Data Supporting First-Year University Students: A Retention Project for Long-Term Success

The transition to university can be exciting, but also overwhelming for first-year students. Recognising this, the University Retention Project focused on understanding first-year students’ experiences with teaching and support services, ensuring they feel engaged, supported, and motivated to complete their university journey with maximum satisfaction.

The Importance of First-Year Retention

Some students struggle with academic pressure, homesickness, financial concerns, or a lack of belonging, making early intervention essential.
